The Moba Territory is in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), in the Diocese of KALEMIE-KIRUNGU, the home Diocese of Don Jean Marie, a priest who has served the Christ the King parish in Camucia (Arezzo. IT) for many years. The territory is located in the Tanganyika province in the East of the Democratic Republic of the Congo: it has an area of over 24,500 km2 and a population of more than 354,700 (post-war censuses in 2003). It is located on Lake Tanganyika in the African Great Lakes region of central Africa.
Like the rest of the country, this district is blessed with immense natural wealth although the local population remains very poor: as many as 89.10% live below the national poverty line.

      The Congolese health system is inadequate and fails to meet the country’s real needs. Many health problems exist at the moment including AIDS, Malaria and Ebola, as well as more common and treatable diseases such as polio, measles, meningitis and tuberculosis.
